Sus Scrofa Majori, commonly known as the Wild Boar, is a distinct species indigenous to the Italian Peninsula, with Tuscany being its heartland. This agile and slender variety is considerably different from its eastern European counterparts. Typically, a peak condition Tuscan wild boar weighs between 80 and 110 kg. With its exceptional hearing and keen sense of smell, this remarkable animal possesses an acute awareness of potential dangers, making it both a challenging and rewarding pursuit for hunters.

As for the tradition Battuta (driven hunt), we suggest focusing on the autumn and winter months as it's difficult to perform when is too hot.
